Washes seem to be my home base of sorts. The necessity to work quickly with this medium helps capture the gestural line quality I like to have in paintings. It also forces me to stay loose when working, which is a great asset and challenge. Recently I started using sumi ink and calligraphy brushes. I really like the varied line thicknesses and bold mark making of this medium.
